One login gives every Ohio classroom a full year of lesson plans, ELBY coaching, English and Spanish content, family engagement tools, an observational assessment tool and 49.5 hours of on-demand professional learning through LBP University. Each activity is mapped to Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards, so directors can show standards coverage from the infant room to pre-K.
Ohio's ELDS run from birth to kindergarten entry across five domains, including Approaches Toward Learning, Language and Literacy, and Social and Emotional Development. LBP's Ohio alignment maps lessons for all five age bands to those standards, and each lesson plan lists the standards it supports, which is the evidence a SUTQ specialist asks to see.
ELBY sits inside each activity and coaches Ohio teachers in the moment: how to scale an activity down for a child who needs support, how to stretch it for a child who is ready, and what to watch for and record as children work.
Ohio staff complete licensing training every fiscal year, and SUTQ-rated programs need 10 hours of Ohio Approved training per person. LBP University gives your team 49.5 hours of on-demand professional learning tied to the lessons they teach, included in the subscription, and LBP also offers OCCRRA-approved professional learning.
SUTQ specialists look for a curriculum from DCY's approved list and lesson plans that use it for all instructional hours. With LBP, the weekly plans, ELDS codes and activity records are already in the platform, so the documentation is there when the specialist arrives.
A new assistant or lead teacher in your Ohio center can open the day's lesson, read ELBY's coaching tip and start teaching, while their required training hours are still being scheduled.
Census data show about one in three Ohioans who speak another language at home speak Spanish. LBP includes Spanish lesson content and family materials in every subscription, with no add-on fee.
Whether your Ohio center has one infant room or six preschool classrooms, LBP is $199 a month for the whole school: every age band, every teacher, one login and one renewal date.
Every classroom in your Ohio center, from infants to pre-K, gets the full curriculum as soon as you sign up.
A teacher picks their age band, opens Week 1, reads the setup and ELBY's coaching tip, and starts the activity. Most teachers get from login to lesson in a couple of minutes.
Yes. LBP’s Ohio alignment maps all five age bands, infant through pre-K, to Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards, which cover birth to kindergarten entry. Each lesson plan lists the ELDS it supports. You can read the standards on the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce site and see LBP’s state alignment documents on our curriculum alignments page.
Yes. Learning Beyond Paper appears on the Department of Children and Youth’s Step Up To Quality Approved Curriculum list (May 1, 2026 edition) for infant/toddler and preschool/pre-K classrooms. Every SUTQ level, Bronze, Silver and Gold, requires a curriculum from that list, aligned to the ELDS and the Science of Reading. Your rating still depends on all the other SUTQ standards, including staff education, screening and family partnerships.
Child care centers in Ohio are licensed by the Department of Children and Youth under rules in OAC Chapter 5180:2-12. LBP does not replace your licensing compliance work, but it gives you written, age-appropriate lesson plans for every room and a record of daily activities, which keeps your program files organized for licensing and SUTQ visits.
Yes. Early Childhood Education grant programs, now administered by DCY, must hold a Silver or Gold SUTQ rating, and every SUTQ level requires a curriculum from DCY’s approved list. LBP is on that list for preschool/pre-K, so ECE classrooms can use it alongside your infant and toddler rooms. Check your grant agreement for any assessment or reporting tools DCY requires separately.
Ohio requires licensed programs that provide Publicly Funded Child Care to be SUTQ rated, unless an exemption applies, and DCY says rated programs are eligible for enhanced payments. LBP covers the SUTQ curriculum standard for infant, toddler and preschool rooms. It does not change your PFCC rates or eligibility; your rating and DCY rules determine those.
Ohio licensing requires six hours of professional development per fiscal year, and from July 2025 SUTQ-rated programs need 10 hours of Ohio Approved training per person, tracked in the Ohio Professional Registry. LBP University adds 49.5 hours of on-demand learning tied to the curriculum, and LBP offers OCCRRA-approved professional learning. Ask us which sessions are currently approved.
